KHANA Launched Stigma Index Report 2010

KHANA organized the launch of Stigma Index Report on 7 December 2012 at its Office in Phnom Penh. Some 80 representatives attended this launch and they were from KHANA, USAID, NAA, and other partners.  33 reporters from various local TV stations, leading local newspapers, national and international news agencies and radios also attended this launch.

The report illustrated different forms of stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV and AIDS in the fields of housing, employment, education, and health. The forms ranged from self-stigmatization, denied access to SRH/FP, advice to undergo permanent sterilization and not to have any or more children, advice to terminate their pregnancy, involuntary disclosure of HIV status, breaches of confidentiality, exclusion, gossip, physical and verbal abuses, physical assaults, and threats.
