Background

Women Development Association was found in 1994 as a Non-Government Organization and

legally recognized by the Council of Ministers the following year. KHANA support focused

prevention in two Operational Districts (Takhmao and Saang), two Health Centres, 4 Communes of

Saang district in 18 Villages.

Vision

WDA aspires to see the poor and vulnerable and people living with HIV able to solve their own

problems, to seek health services by themselves, to achieve behavior change and to protect

themselves and their families. To enable vulnerable children to have a chance to complete basic

education. For vulnerable families to have better living conditions, peace, security and prosperity.

Mission Statement

WDA is working to improve the living conditions of poor people, especially women, children and

youths from disadvantaged and vulnerable families. WDA actively supports through strengthening

the capacity of community and garment factory workers to access self-help structures These include,

community organizing and development, primary health education, STD, HIV and AIDS prevention,

Reproductive Health Education, Vocational skill training, child-education promotion campaigns,

women’s and children’s rights, peace building for out-of-school youths, gender promotion, advocacy,

and micro income generation for poor women towards long-term sustainable development.
