Background
Save Incapacity Teenagers (SIT) is an independent local non-profit, non-partisan, and non-government
organization. SIT is dedicated to providing quality services to all members of Cambodian society,
especially vulnerable citizens with a specific focus on young people and those affected by HIV and AIDS.
It was founded in 1998 by students, former teachers and community workers with experience
working with street children and children in difficult situations and was registered by the Ministry of
Interior in the following year. Save Incapacity Teenagers (SIT) aims to alleviate vulnerability and
assist with support for issues resulting from poverty and marginalization. SIT works to contribute to
the promotion of human rights and safety for Cambodia. KHANA supports care and prevention in 1
Operational District (Muk Kampoul), 3 Health Centers, 6 communes, and 30 villages in Kandal province.
Vision
SIT’s vision is to contribute to poverty alleviation and to assist Cambodia to promote peace, human
rights and safety; where the country’s young and vulnerable people have their capacity and quality
of life promoted.
Mission Statement
The mission of SIT is to work for the development of young and vulnerable people in Cambodia.
SIT works in partnership and solidarity with orphaned and vulnerable children (OVC), youth and
other vulnerable people and marginalized groups to assist them to become self reliant. Assisting
with access and support to information and education, information sharing and advocating for and
with vulnerable members of Cambodian society to promote their well-being and human rights.
