Background
CSDA was established in Banteay Meanchey province in 1997, and officially registered with the
Ministry of the Interior the following year. CSDA was established by 10 Cambodians with
experience in agriculture, micro-finance, human health, animal health, community development.
CSDA has assisted the poor in 42 villages, five communes, two Operational Districts (Preah Net
Preah and Thmor Pourk) and three health centers. The project activities focus on PLHIV, OVC,
married couples and youths.

Program
Projects Funded through KHANA:
• CSDA has three home care teams (one supported by Khana). CSDA conducts home visits to
PLHIV, OVC and home care givers provide education and training during these home visits on
issues of discrimination, information on HIV and AIDS, condom use and negotiation skills and
social support. The project activities include education on prevention, support, and negation
skills.
• Community awareness events such as World AIDS Day and Candle Light Memorial Day
events,
• Food support to PLHIV and OVC
Other Projects:
• Integrated rural community development working with the poor and poorest, the elderly, youth,
children, widows/widowers and people living with handicaps. Providing cow banks, saving and
credit projects, rice banks, community forestry and human rights/democracy and peace building
activities. The coverage area comprises 86 target villages, 13 communes and four districts of
Banteay Meanchey province.
