Background
The Cambodian Children Against Starvation and Violence "CCASVA" is a non partisan, non religious,
local non-government organization. CCASVA was established in January 1996 by a group of
student volunteers to address the needs of this vulnerable group. The Ministry of Interior officially
recognized CCASVA in 1996. KHANA-supported integrated support and prevention covers two
Operational Districts (Prey Veng and Mesang), 10 Health Centers, 16 Communes and 177 Villages.
Vision
All Cambodian children, but especially street children, working children, youth, children affected by
HIV/AIDS have equity of rights and freedom to access quality education, care and support to
increase their quality of life and aspirations.
Mission Statement
• To contribute to fulfilling the rights of children and reducing economic exploitation, domestic
violence, trafficking, sexual exploitation, drug addiction and crime, HIV infection and
discrimination against children.
• To coordinate and provide information about health, education, legal assistance services
among street and working children, youth and children and families affected by HIV.
Human Resources
• 31 full-time paid staff (10 support by KHANA), nine part-time paid staff (eight supported
through KHANA ).
• 56 volunteers paid incentive (Supported by KHANA) one foreign self supporting volunteer.
