Background

COHD was established in 1997 by 12 founding members to provide support, training and various

other services. COHD carries out diverse activities which have included training workshops and

events ranging from Integrated Community Development (livelihoods) and health programmes

(ICP) as well as democracy, human rights, administration, civic education, the judicial system, the

constitution, the state of law, trial procedures, investigating skills and advocacy. Specifically, under

the KHANA project, COHD covers 1 Operational District (Sampov Meas), 7 Health Centres, 13

Communes and 128 Villages in Pursat Province.

 

Vision

COHD is an independent non-governmental organization with no political affiliation, non profit nor

exploitative, non partisan, non religious, not racist, and classless.

COHD aspires to a Cambodian society where all people live in peace in the state of law, within a

democracy with a fair and just judicial system in which there is a respect for law and human rights

activities. A society without poverty, and disease in which development takes place through

sustainable and permanent communities.

 

Mission Statement

To contribute to reduction of HIV and STD vulnerabilities and their impact by cooperating with other

concerned institutions to respond to HIV in the community for effectiveness and sustainability. To

promote the poorest citizens to develop themselves.
